Manuel Sandoval

Hello! My name is Manuel Sandoval. I am Systems Backend Developer living in San Diego, California.

I am a problem solver. My passion is to find solutions to problems using technology and software. I help organizations create solutions to streamline their processes and fix the issues that arise as a company grows. I have over 15 years experience working as a developer, creating and shaping the systems for the companies I work for. I have a passion for development, and you will see it in my work.

My primary development language is Python which I have been developing with for over 10 years. Recently, I have been working with Rust for compiled applications and cli applications in Mac and Linux. I also have years of experience creating and maintaining applications written in Perl. In my recent positions, I have worked developing applications on the AWS platform, creating scalable and quick-to-deploy applications using Docker containerization and Serverless.

When I am not developing, I am either taking a walk around the neighborhood I live in, reading or cooking. I am a foodie. San Diego has quite a variety of foods from around the world. Some of my favorite foods, however, are foods I have come across while traveling to other countries. If you have never had real French wine, eaten a pannekoek, or tried Tibetan or Nepalese momos, you just don't know. I also really enjoy a good cup of coffee.

I love traveling. There is so much to see and experience. I want to get out there and be in it. I have a goal of one day living in Amsterdam or Berlin. They are two of my favorite cities and some of my most visited cities. I have learned so much about myself by experiencing new cultures, people, customs, and it helps me re-evaluate the boundaries that I have set for myself.
